Kermit on the Yummy-Fly-Island

While I was in Fiji, a friendly men told me about a nearby island, on which I could find some really yummy flies. It didn’t take long to convince me that I had to pay a visit to that “Yummy-Fly-Island”. The friendly men even gave me a boat, so I was ready to go!

Yummy-Fly-Island I’m coming!

Pffff, pffffff…

Off we go!

“Bye Kermit, take care!”

Lalalaaalaalaaaa…

I just need to go straight ahead.

“I’m so curious about the yummy flies on the island.”

Wow! There are so many colorful fishes.

Oh, I’m nearly there. I can already smell the yummy flies!

When I arrived on the island, I saw palm trees…

…and some corals.

The friendly men who told me about the island was right. There were tons of extremely delicious yummy flies. It was like heaven. I ate flies all day long and almost forgot about the time.

It was time to go back. Conny and Markus are probably already waiting for me.

Looks like a smooth ride.

“Uhg, I’m so stuffed…”

Sometimes it’s easy being green.

The current didn’t go in the right direction, so the trip took a little longer than expected. Also it was quite sunny and unfortunately I didn’t have any sun screen.

“I started to feel a bit weird.”

“Piggy!?”

“I think I’m hallucinating…”

Fortunately the weather got a bit cooler and after a little time, I felt much better.

I’m back!!!

“Conny, is that you?”

“Hooray! Good to see you!”

The Yummy-Fly-Island was really worth the trip! I definitely have to come back one day.

Kermit in Fiji

During our trip to Australia last year, we also made a trip to a wonderful small Fiji island. We had a terrific and very relaxing time there.

We couldn’t wait to start the journey.

First of all, we had to fill in the Autralian departure card…

…and then we got our tickets for the flight.

A lot of people want to go to Fiji.

We had a long flight ahead of us.

“Are we there yet?”

No, not really. We watched a movie and took a nap and then lunch was served.

They didn’t have any fried flies for me, but the food was better than I thought.

Before the landing, we had to take care of Fijian immigration paperwork.

We had to kill some time before the departure of our connecting flight to the smaller island.

“Are we going to take one of these little ones?”

We have the whole plane for ourselves.

During the short flight, we saw a lot of small islands like this one.

A few minutes later, we arrived at our hotel on Mana Island.

First of all, I had to check out the beach.

“Looks really nice!”

There were so many palm trees.

Comfy…

These other islands over there look interesting.

After the beach, it was time to relax a bit.

On the next morning, we started to explore the island.

We found that look out point.

“Yeah, what a great view!”

Somewhere down there is our hotel.

“Let’s take a picture together.”

“Come on Markus, it’s time to go back now!”

“Ah, this way!”

The hike made me thirsty.

“Let’s go to the beach again.”

“I love it here.”

Markus kindly gave me his sunglasses.

“Damn, I really want to visit these islands.”

I was wondering, if it’s possible to swim over.

Markus told me that I could borrow a boat.

Finally I was ready for the big adventure. “Goodbye Conny and Markus!”

The trip was very exciting and we will post a separate story about this trip very soon.

When I was back, I had to tell Conny and Markus all the details of my trip.

When we walked back to the hotel, I found this coconut.

“Markus, can you take it please?”

The color of this flower reminds me of someone…

The hotel staff was extremely friendly, they gave me an extra bottle of water.

As it was the last evening on Fiji, I was a bit sad.

We had such a great time here – especially my trip to the other island was awesome.

Awwww…

On the next morning, we waited for our flight back to the main island.

“I can hear our plane. I think it’s coming!”

There it is.

“It looks empty, maybe I can get a seat in the front.”

“Yay, I can watch the pilot flying.”

I love the blue color of the Pacific!

After a short layover on the main island of Fiji, we took the flight back to Autralia.

During the flight, I called Ms. Piggy.

We had a terrific trip to Fiji.

Kermit at the Oktoberfest in Munich

This year we finally made it to the famous Oktoberfest in Munich. Obviously I had to get a traditional dress for this day.

We took the subway to the fairground.

Look at my dress. Doesn’t it look great!?

‘It looks like we are not the only ones who want to go to the Oktoberfest!’

Unbelievable how many people were there.

At first, we walked around a bit…

…and then I saw one of the famous beer halls. ‘Let’s go inside!’

Inside, we took this picture. It was way too crowded.

When we left the beer hall, someone gave me this huge pretzel.

Besides all the beer halls, we also saw lots of fun rides.

Then, it was time for lunch.

We found a nice and sunny place and it took not long…

…before I got a cold refreshing apple juice.

‘Mmmmhh, that’s good!’

They told me that they are out of fried flies. ‘Oh noooo…’

Instead, I got a typical Bavarian dish, called Roasted Ham Hock.

As you can see, it was nearly as good as fried flies.

Markus’ uncle Frank and I were happy (and stuffed.)

Thankfully, Iris, Markus’ cousin, carried me along.

We were looking for a souvenir…

…and found a booth full of gingerbread.

I took this one. ‘No way Conny, I won’t share it!’

It is impossible to visit the Oktoberfest without having a beer. The good thing is that you get plenty of beer at every corner.

‘Uh, that’s a big one!’

‘Uuuuaah, that’s too heavy for me.’

Conny helped me to empty the beer mug.
(This time, I even shared it.)

It was a loooot of beer.

The beer made us very happy and we had a lot of fun afterwards.

We really enjoyed our day on the Oktoberfest. I am sure, we will come again someday.

Kermit in Brussels

Markus and I took the train to Brussels, the capital of Belgium. Although it was a very short trip, we saw all the famous sights and treated ourselves with some fine food.

We arrived in Brussels very early and checked in at the hotel first.

I liked our spacious room.

I had to call Ms. Piggy to tell her that we arrived safely.

We started our sightseeing trip at the famous fountain sculpture “Manneken Pis”.

Then we saw the European Parliament.

Interesting to see how “European Parliament” is written in all European languages.

Nearby there is a small part of the original Berlin Wall. Looks quite big to me!

We continued our trip and went to the Grand Place.

Isn’t it nice? No wonder the place is among the most beautiful in Europe.

And here is the town hall. Quite nice too.

After a day full of walking, we were tired and decided to go back to the hotel to get some rest.

We started the next morning with some Belgian Waffles.

Very sweet and yummy.

Not as good as fried flies, but still delicious.

“Markus, try some.”

After a cup of coffee, we were ready to start exploring the rest of the city.

Our first stop was the Royal Palace of Brussels.

The city center is full of beautiful buildings, like this one here…

…and also a lot of churches.

At the end of our tour, we saw the two highlights: The Jubelpark with the triumphal arch…

…and the famous and very impressive Atomium.

Then it was already time to leave Brussels, but not without trying some original Belgian Fries.
(I still prefer flies though…)

It was a short trip, but Brussels is well worth a visit.

Kermit in Mumbai (part 2)

There were so many things to see and explore in Mumbai that we were happy to have more time for some sightseeing, before we had to get ready for the wedding of our friend Arpit.

Together with Subodh we took the train…

…to the beach.

"Huh, where is all the water?" It was definitely low tide.

"These letters look strange! Subodh can you translate, please?"

Here I am looking at an outdoor laundry. Look at all the clothes!

And here I am in the middle of a street market.

It was quite crowded.

"Huh, what a mess!"

Then we went to a religious place…

…with thousands of pigeons. I have never seen that many.

All the streets were very busy…

…and I was often confused, because I was not able to read any of the signs.

I got a call that my clothes for the wedding were ready. We took a cab to pick them up.

"Look at me! How do do you like it, Markus?"

Subodhs wedding clothes looked nice as well.

We were ready to rock the party!

"Hurry up guys, the ceremony will start soon!"

"Taataaa lalalaaa…" I liked the Indian music a lot.

All the singing made me thirsty.

"Hooh, the drink was strong. Now I need a break."

There were tons of beautiful flowers.

And they smelled great.

For the actual wedding ceremony, we had to wear turbans.

We looked quite funny, didn’t we?

"Where’s the groom?"

"Ah, there he is. Markus take a pic!!"

Then it was time to get some yummy Indian food.

It was quite spicy and made me thirsty again.

Hehe, she liked my apparel too.

Here they are, the married couple and their families.

Before we went home, we had to take a pic of this statue.

The wedding was truly an amazing experience and we will never forget the ceremony, the nice people, the wonderful music, the great food – just everything. We wish the couple all the best!

Back at the hotel, my stomach started to grumble. Thank god I had enough money to get something that helps.

I heard that this stuff is supposed to help. (And it is yummy too. Hehe…)

"Kermit, no! You had enough!"

"Whaaaad doo yuu meaaaaan? I diiiidn’t have enuff!!"

Well, maybe I did have enough. It was time to get some sleep.

I felt much better the next morning, but unfortunately, it was time to fly back home.

"Goodbye Mumbai!"

Kermit in Mumbai (part 1)

Markus and I got an invitation to travel to Mumbai, to attend a traditional Indian wedding. Of course, we also took the chance to do some sightseeing in this fascinating city.

We took a cab to the city center to start our sightseeing tour.

There were so many things to see…

…like this huge square with lots of traffic.

It was full of busses…

…the typical black Mumbai cabs and even some horse carriages.

Then we took the train…

…to see the historical part of Mumbai.

Here I am in front of the famous Taj Mahal Hotel.

And here I am looking at the even more famous Gateway of India monument.

The weather was great…

…so we took a ferry to the Elephanta Island to meet with our friend Subodh.

“Markus, is the skyline on the pic as well?”

After a short journey, we arrived at the island.

There are a bunch of interesting cave temples.

“Come on, let’s go in!”

“Wow, that’s fascinating!”

“Look at these sculptures.”

“I think I know that one! Hmm, do I?”

Finally we met Subodh. “Heeeello!”

During a break, we played a game of chess. Subodh was a great opponent.

In the end, I won and Subodh spent me one of these pipes. Great stuff…

“Yeah, fly pink elephant, fly!” Well, I felt a bit weird after smoking that pipe…

After that interesting experience, we found a nice place to eat. That Indian food was quite yummy.

Then we waited for the ferry back to the city.

“I can see the harbour already.”

We took another cab…

…to do some more sightseeing.

In the evening, we went to the beach…

…to try some fresh and refreshing coconuts.

On the way back to the hotel, we stopped by the nicely illuminated central train station.

There we also met Aviv, a friend of Markus, to discuss the upcoming wedding on the next day.

That was a great start of our journey to Mumbai. We could not wait for the absolute highlight of our trip: The traditional Indian wedding of Markus’ friend Arpit.

A new year and a lot of new travels

We have not posted a lot of new stories lately, but you are wrong if you think we were lazy. No, we traveled around and took tons of awesome pictures with Kermit. Seoul, Korea

Kermit saw lots of cool temples, busy streets and a huge and interesting fish market. He even took some Taekwondo lessons.

Brussles, Belgium

Kermit saw the world-famous Atomium monument and could not get enough of Belgian waffles.

Berlin, Germany

Kermit visited numerous historic buildings like the Brandenburg Gate and other famous landmarks.

Mana Island, Fiji

Crystal clear blue water, sunny sky, 35 degrees Celcius, coconuts in the garden – that is how Kermit relaxed in Fiji.

Mumbai, India

The highlight of Kermit’s trip to Mumbai was the true Indian wedding he attended. And of course he also enjoyed the local cuisine with all its interesting flavors and spices.

Frankfurt, Germany

Kermit explored his current hometown and was more than surprised to see what a great city it is. He ate a lot of “Green Sauce”, which is a local speciality – and now one of his favorite dishes.

Porto, Portugal

Kermit spent a sunny weekend in Porto, which is world-famous for its port wine.

Riga, Latvia

On a weekend trip to Riga, Kermit enjoyed some nice views of the historic Old Town from the top of a church.

Leipzig, Germany

During a short trip to Leipzig, Kermit visited the historical Monument to the Battle of the Nations and some more restored historical buildings.

Bratislava, Slovakia

Kermit spent only a few hours in the capital of Slovakia, but it was enough to see that it is a very nice small town.

Stockholm, Sweden

Kermit had some rainy days in the capital of Sweden, but that did not prevent him from exploring this beautiful city.

Istanbul, Turkey

In the only metropolis in the world that is situated on two continents (Asia and Europe), Kermit got the chance to see mosques, spice markets and many other interesting things.

New York, USA

It was not Kermit’s first visit to this great city, but it is always fun to be there.

Vienna, Austria

Kermit got a real Wiener Schnitzel, visited the Prater amusement park and saw a lot of beautiful historic buildings.

Pacific Ocean, near Fiji

Kermit decided to go on an expedition to explore Yummi-Fly-Island, a truly beautiful south Pacific island.

As you can see, Kermit really traveled a lot, but we are not done. Kermit looooooooves to travel and so do we! More trips to new locations have been already planned and we are looking forward to all the new adventures…

Kermit in Sydney (part 2)

In the second part of our Sydney story you can see photos of our visit at the zoo, where we met koalas, kangaroos and a cockatoo. Also we spent some time cruising on the water again.

On the next day, the weather was much better. We took a ferry to the Taronga Zoo and started our day at the harbor.

We arrived early and had enough time to take some photos.

“Guys, I think the ferry just arrived.”

“Conny look, there’s the harbor Bridge and there’s a huuuge
ship, and…” – I was really overwhelmed.

I loooove cruising on the water.

“Full speed ahead! Wohooo!!”

“Hi, how ya doin?”

“Waaaahhhh!!! Relax!”

Then we went on to the kangaroos.

“Hey sweety!”

“Aww, she likes me!”

“Don’t jump, doooon’t jump!!”

Look at that! She was absolutely gentle.

What a cute little koala!

“Guys, may I introduce you to Henry?”

“Hey buddy, great to see you again!”

“How have you been?”

“Unbelievable that we met here.”

“Ya Henry, I’m still ticklish…stop it Henry!!”

“It’s time to go my friend. Let’s keep in touch.”

Before we left the zoo, we took a quick look at the giraffes…

On the way back to the city, we took the ferry again.

This time it was a high-speed ferry. “I believe I can fly…”

Markus liked the cruising too.

Once we were back in the city, I was starving.

“Mhhm, that looks delicious!”

Kermit in Sydney (part 1)

After spending some time in Melbourne, we flew to Sydney, the biggest city in Australia. We had a great time there and we took some nice pictures too. Among other things, we have seen the Chinese Garden, the famous Bondi beach and we took a ferry to a beach north of the city.

The first thing we did was some sightseeing. I was dying to see all the famous landmarks of Sydney.

This is me in downtown Sydney…

…and this is the Sydney Tower.

…and the most famous landmark of Sydney – the Opera House.

I just could not get enough of this beautiful view.

“Come on guys, let’s go down to the beach!”

I don’t like salt water that much, so I waited while
Conny and Markus went swimming.

“Hmm, where are they?”

I was happy when they were back, as I was jet-lagged and tired.

I spotted this place, which was perfect for…

… a nice group picture of us.

Markus, let’s take a pic!”

“Smile!!”

Then we visited the Chinese Garden.

I loved this place.

There were lots of fishes in the ponds – but no flies.

“Maybe I can catch some flies on the other side?”

“Maybe there are some flies up here!?”

“Damn, no flies! But a nice view!”

“It’s sooo hot!! Conny, can I use your hair to put me in the shade?”

“Wow, that looks really nice!”

“Isn’t she beautiful?”

After the garden, we went to China Town.
Here I’m standing at the main gate.

Thank god this lion is not alive! Hehe…

Later we took a ferry…

…toward the suburbs north of Sydney.

“Oh look, there’s a nice beach. Let’s go there!”

“Can we stay here? I want to dig myself into the sand.”

“Hehe, yaaay!!”

“That soooo cool!”

Conny was so kind to carry me around a bit.

Then it started to rain…

Kermit in Melbourne

As already announced, Conny, Markus and I travelled to Australia. It was winter in Germany and we were happy to fly into the Australian summer. Our first stop was Melbourne on the south-east coast, where we spent a couple of days in the city and then travelled on to see Philip Island and the famous Great Ocean Road.

We decided to go on top of the Eureka Tower,
to get an overview of Melbourne.

“Holy cow! The tower looks quite high!”

Luckiliy there was a fence right in front of me
and I could hold on to it.

“Ah, there’s downtown.”

The people down on the street looked like tiny ants. Or flies?

Here I am looking toward the Pacific Ocean.
We had a really great view.

Once we were back down on the street, I was hungry and Markus
gave me some peach slices. Yummy!

Before we went on, I needed a short brake in the shadow.

I was not sure where to go, so I tried
to get a better view…

…but that did not help. Luckily we found a street map.

“OK guys, I know where to go. Let’s go!”

The next stop was the Queen Victoria Market.

The market offers tons of fresh vegetables and fruits
along with many other things.

“Mmmh, nice color!”

“Hehehe, these apples look like me!”

Then we walked back to the city center.

Here I am in front of the Federation Square in the heart of Melbourne.

And this is St. Paul’s Cathedral.

The weather got worse…

…so we went inside to see one of the biggest
shopping centers in Melbourne.

They built the shopping center around
this old tower. Crazy!

On the next day, the weather was much better again.
Here I am posing in front of the skyline.

Later we went to the beach of St. Kilda,
one of the best beaches in Melbourne.

Then I saw a jellyfish. It was the first time, I saw them in nature!

Amazing animals! (It was bigger than it looks on the photo!)

Conny, Markus and I had a great time!

On the next day, we took a tour to the Great Ocean Road.

In the morning we stopped at a beach
where we watched a surf competition.

Then we reached the start of the Great Ocean Road,
which winds along the Pacific coast.

I could not stop to look outside.
The views were breathtaking.

We stopped several times on nice places like this one.

Conny was so kind to let me sit on her lap, so that
I was able to look outside.

Later, we took a helicopter ride to the famous 12 Apostels.
Wohoo, that was great!

“I see the ocean, I see the ocean!!!”

“Aahh…”

“Ooohh…”

“What a great view!”

Back on earth, our tour guide took a group picture…

…and another one with Conny, Markus and myself.

Conny went for a walk down on the beach and suddenly
I did not see her anymore.

Ah, there she is. “Heeeey Coooonny!”

I loooove this beach! And it reminds me on
a beach near San Francisco!

It became windy, so I held on to Conny,
to take a last view onto the ocean.

We went to the railway station to see
if we can catch a train to the island.

“No, I don’t see any trains going there…”

No problem, we took another bus tour.

After a two hour drive, we arrived at the island.

Yay, and the weather was great!

Then I saw a…

…telescope! I was eager to spot some whales…

…but I did not see any.

Then suddenly a gust of wind almost blew me down the slope.

Luckily I could hold on to Conny…

…and Markus.

On the way back to the city,
we made a short break at this nice beach…

…and I took the chance to relax in the sun.
