Kermit in Bali – Part 2

After some relaxing days at the beach and the hotel pools, we did another excursion. This time, we visited a gorgeous butterfly garden, a waterfall and we also saw more rice terraces.

The morning started with a healthy breakfast.
Fresh fruits instead of flies.

Then we started our next tour …

… to a butterfly garden.

They had a nice scenery there …

… and they even got fishes in the lagoon.

Finally I saw the first butterfly.

They were really huge.

“Markus look – I got one sitting on my arm!”

I was wondering if they have flies too.

“Yeah, there are some …”

“… and they are really huuuge.”

Unfortunately I couldn’t reach them
so I watched out for some more butterflies.

That was a nice orange one.

They also had some bugs there …

… which looked quite scary.

The flowers were nice, though …

… and smelled delicious.

I could have stayed there the whole day but …

… we had to continue our drive …

… to visit these magnificent waterfalls.

On our way back to the hotel we stopped once more …

… at some rice terraces …

… and Conny took this nice picture of me.

Sometimes it is easy being green…

Kermit in Bali – Part 1

After a few days in Singapore Markus and Conny continued their honeymoon trip and flew to Bali, a wonderful island of Indonesia. We enjoyed the beauty of the island, wonderful weather, a great beach and we also did some interesting excursions.

When we arrived at our hotel,
we had to wait until our room was ready.

The stairs to the lobby were quite high …

… definitely not made for frogs.

In the room I found a lot of strange fruits.

“This one looks like a tomato!” – but it is a tamarillo.

“Ah grapes. Yummy!!”

After this little snack we went directly to the beach.

I relaxed in the sun …

… and watched some tourists strolling by.

“I love it!”

I took a short break in the shaddow …

… before I started to explore the beach.

The sand was really great.

Some tourists recognized me, so I waved hello to them …

… and also posed for some souvenir pictures.

I checked out this really cool life guard chair.

Later, I brought my beach towel
to one of the boxes provided by the hotel.

It was already late and I was a bit tired from the journey
so I went to bed early.

“Good night Conny and Markus!”

The next morning I started with some gymnastics.

This coconut was really heavy.

After all this sport I head a hearty breakfast …

… and also tried some of Markus’ food.

I was sooo stuffed!

Then we wanted to do a tour. It was hard to decide which one.

We had enough money to do all of them, yeah!
(Well, what you see here is less than US$ 200…)

We waited in the lobby …

… till our guide Kiki arrived.

We then started our tour …

… to one of the many rice terraces of Bali.

They are everywhere.

And look at these nice green colours. Bali is as green as I am

We came by a temple but as frogs were not allowed inside …

… I waited outside while Conny and Markus visited the temple.

We continued our drive …

… to the next big city. They have a lot of motorbikes here.

It was really hot outside so we spent the rest
of the day at the hotel pool.

The pool was great.

There was a big fountain.

“Hehe…”, I loved it!

After that great day, I enjoyed laying in the sun a bit.

Conny also enjoyed it and we said hello to Markus
while he was swimming in the pool.

Kermit is going to Australia

Our next trip is coming up: This time we are going to Australia. Kermit is already very exited. He cannot wait to explore Sydney, see koala bears and kangaroos and he is looking forward to all the adventures which are waiting on the other side of the world.

Kermit in Singapore

A few days after Markus and Conny’s wedding they started their honeymoon and of course I joined them. We spent a few days in Singapore, which really is an amazing city. It was very interesting to see all the different cultures and neighborhoods, the delicious food, the different temples and so many other things.

We were happy to finally start our trip.

I am always amazed that such a huge thing can fly.

While we were waiting, I checked the boarding card.
I got a window seat. Yay!

Markus showed me, how to fill out the forms for
the Singapore visitor visa.

My seat was very spacious and quite comfortable.

Later during the flight, I read an interesting article about
Bangalore in India. Maybe we should go there one day…

The service on board was great and their apple juice very tasty.

The dinner was good too, although they didn’t offer me any flies.

It was late already, so we tried to get some sleep.

A couple of hours later, I woke up. “Aaah, I slept very well!”

The next morning started with a delicious breakfast. Again no flies…

…but we got a yoghurt for dessert.

At that time, we were somewhere over the Indian Ocean.
What a great view!

Then the pilot announced that the flight is delayed for
about one hour. “Oh, noooo!”

Markus and I spent the extra time playing some funny video games.

And then, finally, we arrived in Singapore after a long
13-hour flight. We took the subway to the hotel…

…where I refreshed myself.

It was very hot and sunny outside, so I had to apply some sunscreen.

We checked the guidebook for what we should see first …

…and then I had a look at the subway system to find out
how to get there.

First, we went to Little India.

There were temples everywhere. Amazing!

There were a lot of huge and colorful buildings too.

Back at the hotel I checked what we could have for dinner.

We went to one of these large food markets…

…where I had a teriyaki salmon noodle soup. Mmmhh, yummy!

Then we started to explore Chinatown…

…which also has a lot of temples.

Here Markus and I are in front of a typical entrance to a temple.

Then I saw this cool stone dragon. He looked so cute.

“Bangkok, Perth, Hanoi, Jakarta… And where is our flight??”

“Ah, there is our gate.”

“Conny, Markus, hurry up, I don’t want to miss our flight!”

Hehe, I love to ride on the escalator!

Kermit eats a fly

We are often asked about Kermit’s favorite food. He likes a lot of different things like Austrian Kaiserschmarrn, granola bars, sushi, English breakfast, peanuts, bagels, Christmas sweets, steaks and salad, brownies, or chestnuts. But more than everything else, Kermit likes to eat flies. He eats them fried, spicy, as a side or main dish, grilled or broiled, but most often he eats them just straight.

Last weekend we visited the hr3-radio station and won the contest for the best and funniest personal website. Yesterday I received my prize – a Fujitsu Siemens Netbook.

Uaaah, that’s heavy!

Markus, hurry with your pic. I can’t wait to unpack.

Kermit at the hr3 radio station

hr3, one of the most well-known German radio stations was searching for the best and funniest personal website. Kermit send in our blog and we were selected as the winner for the first week. Markus even had to give a live interview. And guess what, we won the contest and spent an exciting day at the radio station.

For those of you who understand German, here is the live interview of Markus when we were selected as winner of the first week.

Three weeks later one of the two hosts of the 0138-6000 show, Peter Lack, called and invited us to the studio.

Here we are in front of the main entrance.

On our way to the studio we came by
a gallery of portraits.

"Look how many famous people are there. Maybe my picture
will be here some day too?"

Then we arrived at the studio and said hello to everyone.

There were so many controls everywhere.

"Hmm… Which one do I have to use?"

"Maybe this one?"

"Ah, this one looks good."

Kermit adjusted the microphone …

… and then he sang a birthday song for Peter.

"Happy birthday to you,
happy birthday to youuuu …"

"Yeah, that sounds good."

A few seconds later Peter arrived at the studio and said hello.

Kermit followed the show …

… and listened to the music.

It was really interesting to see how a radio show is produced.

Suddenly they announced that we were the winners of the contest.
Kermit couldn’t believe it.

"Yippieh, we won!!!"

Kermit was very happy to win the contest.

"Congratulations Kermit."

Afterwards Kermit thanked all his fans …

… and together with Markus …

… and Conny we talked a little bit about our website.

At the end of the show Kermit gave some autographs.

We all together enjoyed our stay at hr3 and the 0138-6000 show.

Kermit in London

Recently we spend a weekend in London and Kermit came with us to explore the city. Although it was just a short-trip, we saw the most important sights and Kermit even had some time for shopping.

Once we were in the city, we took a first shot at Victora Station.

On our way to the hotel, Kermit saw some of the red double-decker
buses, which are typical for London.

“Is this our hotel?”

No, it was not our hotel. Kermit was a bit
disappointed, as he really liked the building.

We had to corss the street so Kermit pressed
the button for the traffic light.

After we stored our luggage in the hotel, Kermit wanted to get
a picture with one of the red phone booths.

We took the subway to Westminster Abbey.

“Wow, there are so many people!”

It was Remembrance Day, so there was a ceremony going on.

The Big Ben was just across the street.

Kermit loved it, so we took another picture of
him in front of the Big Ben.

At the Thames we saw the famous observation wheel London Eye.
Kermit was scared by the height,
so we did not take a ride.

Kermit spotted a mailbox and sent a postcard to Miss Piggy.

There were some tourists watching him in the pub nearby,
and Kermit gave a spontaneous performance for them.

In a tourist shop near Trafalgar Square,
Kermit bought this nice shirt.

We passed the Horse Guards building…

…and later Kermit enjoyed the afternoon sun.
"Aahhh, that’s a nice place!"

Our last stop for the day was the Buckingham Palace.

“Unfortunately we missed the famous changing of the guards…”

“…but maybe I can see the Queen!”

After all this walking Kermit was hungry, so we went to an
Indian restaurant to get some food…

…and some drinks.

Back in the hotel Kermit was still thirsty from
the spicy food. So he had a coke…

…before he called Miss Piggy to tell her
what he has seen during the day.

After a good night’s sleep, Kermit woke up early and…

…after having a hearty breakfast we were ready
to explore the rest of the city.

Our first stop was the Tower of London…

…before we went on to the famous Tower Bridge.

We took the subway…

…to Picadilly Circus.

Kermit really liked the place and could
have sit there forever.

There was a parade going on at the street.

It was time for lunch so we went to a Sushi bar.
"Bah, they don’t have any Sushi with stir fried flies!"

Kermit liked his sushi anyway.

Unfortunately it was already time to leave for the airport. So we took
a last picture of Kermit in front of some
typical red double-decker buses.

After we arrived at the airport, Kermit printed out our boarding passes.

In the airplane, Kermit read the latest news and
remembered the great time he had in London.
