Kermit in Istanbul

I always wanted to visit Istanbul, which is the only city in the world that is located on two continents – Asia and Europe.

I didn't have breakfast, so I checked the menu on the plane.

An hour later, we arrived.

We took the airport train.

We started to explore the city.

After climbing so many steps, I was quite exhausted. Conny had to feed me.

Then we took a train to the Topkapi Sultans Palace.

At the far end of the Sultans Palast we were able to have a look at the Bosporus over to Asia.

Before we went on, we relaxed a bit in the shade.

We decided to take the train and I was able to get in for free.

Back in the city, I enjoyed the late afternoon sun.

Before I felt asleep, I watched some TV.

For breakfast I tried a sweet Turkish nougat. Very yummy.

We also bought Baklava, but I was stuffed and saved them for later.

We wanted to do a sightseeing bus tour. We went to the Taksim Square...

...where we took one of the old trams to get to the pick up point.

We were lucky and got the best seats in the bus.

Our first stop was the spice market - look at all these spices.

Back in the bus we checked where the next stop is.

During the tour we saw a lot of mosques.

Our final stop was the famous Hagia Sophia church.

"There it is!" Unfortunately it was closed, so we couldn't go in.

On the next morning I was sad that we already had to fly back home.

  • Miss Piggy must get jealous sometimes that she does not get to come a long on these amazing trips.

  • Hi Kermie, What an amazing looking place with beautiful buildings, one that I too would like to visit one day. How beautiful was the spice market – I can only imagine the smells. Your breakfast looked super sweet and yummy and made me want to eat bakalava and drink strong coffee. Cannot wait to see where you go next…..B:)

  • The “Cryptical stone carvin” is how turkish language was written before Turkey adopted the roman alphabet. Poor Kermit, he does not know linguistics.
